Page/Site A document/series of documents published on the Internet designed to
work with browsers. Information is stored on servers in the form of Web pages and other
linked files. Server A computer located on a network providing information to other computers on that network. Servers can play many roles on the Internet such as email (SMTP/POP), dailup (PPP/SLIP), Web hosting (HTTP), and file transfers (FTP). Domain Name A system which points applications such as a browser to locations on the Internet. Similar to a phone number or address, you can access specific Web sites from companies or |

domain name. Domain names usually end with a three letter indicator as to what type of
organization you're logging on to. Here are a list of examples: .gov indicates government;

organization. Hits/Statistics Every time someone logs on to your site, its referred to as a hit. Hits are the unit of measure used to rate the amount of traffic a site has. Statistics are generated by counting hits and determining where and/or whom they're coming from. |
